Import and export
At a glance
You can import CSV or Excel files to create a new spreadsheet, or export your existing spreadsheets to use them in other tools.
Importing a file
Accepted formats
| Format | Extensions | Max size |
|---|---|---|
| CSV | .csv | 50 MB |
| Excel | .xlsx, .xls | 50 MB |
Step 1: Start the import
- From the My spreadsheets tab, click on Import.
- Select the file from your computer, or drag and drop it into the import area.
Step 2: Configure the mapping
The import wizard displays a preview of the first rows of the file and allows you to configure:
| Parameter | Description |
|---|---|
| First row = headers | If enabled, the first row is used as column names |
| Separator (CSV) | Comma, semicolon, tab or automatic detection |
| Encoding | UTF-8 (default), Latin-1, or automatic detection |
| Sheet (Excel) | Select the sheet to import if the file contains multiple sheets |
Step 3: Column typing
For each detected column, the wizard suggests an automatic type based on the data. You can change it manually before importing.
| Detected column | Suggested type | Editable |
|---|---|---|
Name | Text | Yes |
Amount | Number | Yes |
Creation date | Date | Yes |
Contact email | Yes |
Step 4: Validate
- Review the data preview.
- Correct any mapping errors if needed.
- Click Import.
A progress indicator shows the advancement. At the end, a summary indicates the number of imported rows and any errors.
Import error handling
| Error | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Row skipped | Format incompatible with the column type | Correct the data in the source file |
| Incorrect encoding | Special characters misinterpreted | Select the correct encoding (UTF-8 or Latin-1) |
| File too large | Exceeds the 50 MB limit | Split the file into multiple parts |
| Missing columns | Headers not detected | Verify that the first row contains column names |
