Natural language queries
At a glance
You can query your spreadsheets by asking questions in English (or in French). The AI analyzes your question, generates the appropriate query and displays the results directly in the spreadsheet.
Before you begin
- Have a spreadsheet containing data
- The Agent module must be active on your workspace
Asking a question
- Open a spreadsheet.
- Click on the Ask a question... search bar at the top of the spreadsheet.
- Type your question in natural language.
- Press Enter.
Example questions
| Question | Action performed |
|---|---|
Which customers have revenue greater than 10,000? | Filters rows by amount |
How many rows have the status "In progress"? | Count with filter |
Sort by creation date descending | Sort on a column |
What is the total amount of the "Revenue" column? | Aggregation calculation (sum) |
Show only the Name, Email and Status columns | Column hiding |
What are the first 10 rows? | Result count limitation |
Group by category and show the total per group | Grouping with aggregation |
Understanding the results
After processing your question, the AI displays:
- The interpretation — A summary of what it understood from your question.
- The results — The data filtered, sorted or calculated according to your request.
- The applied filters — The active filters are visible in the filter bar so you can adjust them manually.
info
Natural language queries apply temporary filters and sorts. Your data is never modified. Click Reset to return to the full view.
Refining the results
If the results do not match your expectations:
- Rephrase your question with more precision (name the exact columns).
- Combine with manual filters: natural language queries and standard filters are compatible.
- Save the result as a view to find it quickly later.
Limitations
| Limitation | Detail |
|---|---|
| Ambiguous columns | If two columns have similar names, specify the exact name |
| Complex calculations | Multi-step formulas or joins between spreadsheets are not supported |
| Volume | Queries apply to the current spreadsheet only |
